Bali, Indonesia · A grief-informed retreat for the capably exhausted

A soft place to land when life still works on paper, but no longer feels like yours.

This is a small, quiet space for the person who holds it together in public while quietly unraveling in private.

6 days · 5 nights · November 15–20, 2026 · Seminyak, Bali · Limited to 12 guests

From the outside, you look organized, capable, and responsible. Inside, you are simply tired of performing okay.
This retreat offers a protected threshold where you can step out of the spotlight, stop managing everything for everyone else, and finally breathe.

Who this retreat is for

This space is held for the steady one — the person everyone trusts to answer the email, make the appointment, and keep the world spinning because stopping feels too risky.
Underneath the competence, there is often a heavy fog, a private ache you do not know where to put, and a quiet fear that if you actually slow down, everything you have been outrunning will catch up.

This retreat may be for you if:

  • You look fine to the world, but you know you are not entirely fine.
  • You are tired of being the strong one with nowhere to lean.
  • You are navigating death, burnout, identity loss, caregiving aftermath, or a life transition that changed your relationship with yourself.
  • You want beauty, nature, and structure without the pressure to perform vulnerability.
  • You are ready to let someone else handle the logistics so you can simply receive.
  • You do not need perfect language for what you are carrying. Quiet participation is welcome here.

Who Is Welcome

Grief has no single face, gender, or timeline. This space welcomes all identities and all kinds of loss — recent or long-held, recognized or quietly carried. We accommodate dietary needs and work with you on accessibility wherever we can. If something would help you feel safer or more held here, please tell us.

This may not be the right fit

This experience is not the right container if you are currently in acute crisis, require clinical or psychiatric care, need medical treatment or legal guidance, or need a different level of support than this retreat can responsibly offer.
It may also not be the right time if your daily responsibilities cannot yet be covered well enough for you to step away with steadiness.
This is not a rejection — it is care. The right container matters, especially when your nervous system is already overloaded.

If your needs fall outside our scope, we will do our best to point you toward more appropriate support.

What you will walk away with

This retreat is not about forcing breakthroughs or using Bali as a beautiful distraction from your pain.
Golden Hour Studio creates grief-informed retreats that support rest, clarity, connection, rhythm, and a more livable relationship with what you are carrying. The goal is to create enough space for your body to exhale, your mind to soften, and your inner life to become audible again.

Emotional breathing room

Space to stop performing competence and simply be human. The rhythm helps you soften without being rushed, analyzed, or pushed to share before you are ready.

A steadier relationship with grief

The goal is not closure. It is learning to live more honestly with what has changed.

Rest without coordination

Meals, flow, and retreat logistics are taken care of so you can receive instead of managing the room.

Gentle practices for home

Simple grounding tools and quiet rituals to support you after the retreat ends. Nothing performative. Nothing complicated.

A clearer next step

More internal space, a gentler relationship with what you are carrying, and a clearer sense of what needs to change when you return home.
Bali is not the transformation — you are. But place matters.
When your everyday environment is tied to responsibility, urgency, and survival mode, physical distance can help your body tell the truth about what it is carrying.
High-functioning grief has a cost. You can keep going, and you may be very good at it, but waiting until life becomes less complicated often only deepens the exhaustion.
This is an invitation to pause before your body forces the collapse. You do not have to hit a breaking point to deserve care.
This retreat is held by The Golden Hour Studio, a grief-informed, non-clinical container designed for people who need steadiness, rest, and room to hear themselves again.

What Bali makes possible

  • Quiet mornings that begin gently.
  • Natural beauty that supports reflection without explanation.
  • Time away from the roles and routines that keep you in performance mode.
  • A slower rhythm that helps the nervous system settle.
  • Local experiences chosen with care and respect, not as spiritual decoration.

Why Bali / Why Now

Who Will Hold This Space

I’m Bria Caldwell, founder of The Golden Hour Studio.

My path to this work unfolded in two chapters. In 2020, while hosting my first retreat in Bali, I found a natural rhythm in creating seamless, restorative experiences for others. But my purpose became crystalline in December 2022, when I lost my mom suddenly. I watched my family carry both the emotional and logistical weight of that loss with no one to walk alongside them. In that fog, I realized I wanted to be that presence — the one that says, “I see you. I witness your pain.”

I earned my End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate through the University of Vermont (UVM) and hold a NEDA (National End-of-Life Doula Alliance) Proficiency Badge. My work is non-clinical and rooted in companioning, not fixing. I don’t aim to resolve your grief — I offer the soft structure you need to rest within it rather than run from it.

Daily rhythm

Every day is intentionally gentle and thoughtfully paced.
We use soft structure — enough rhythm to help you feel held, and enough space for your experience to unfold without pressure. Mornings begin slowly with gentle movement, breath, or quiet reflection. Afternoons leave room for rest, pool time, or solo integration. Evenings invite grounded conversation or simple togetherness.
Nothing is designed to flood you or force disclosure.

Morning

Slow arrival into the day, gentle movement, breathwork, somatic practice, breakfast, and spacious unstructured time.

Afternoon

Guided reflection, grief-informed conversation, rest, journaling, solo integration, or a curated restorative or nature-based experience.

Evening

Dinner and a quiet evening integration practice, grounded conversation, or simple togetherness.

The policy section should sit before investment so guests understand cancellation, payment, participation, and scope before making a financial decision.

Cancellation Policy

Because this is an intimate international retreat with advance vendor commitments, all payments are subject to the published terms. Deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations 90 or more days before the retreat may receive a refund of payments beyond the deposit, minus processing fees and any non-recoverable costs already committed on your behalf.
Cancellations between 60 and 89 days before the retreat are eligible for a 50 percent refund of payments beyond the deposit, minus processing fees and non-recoverable costs. Cancellations fewer than 60 days before the retreat are non-refundable.
No refunds are available for late arrivals, early departures, missed activities, travel delays, illness, personal emergencies, or changes in personal circumstances. Travel insurance with trip cancellation, interruption, and medical coverage is required.

Payment Policy

A non-refundable deposit reserves your place. Remaining payments may be made in full or through an approved payment plan.

Payment plans are a convenience, not a subscription. Once enrolled, you are responsible for the full investment according to the agreed payment schedule.

Participation Policy

This retreat offers emotional support, companionship, reflection, and rest. It is not therapy, psychiatric care, medical treatment, crisis intervention, or legal guidance.
Participants are expected to engage respectfully with the group, facilitators, local partners, venue staff, and surrounding community. Confidentiality, consent, flexible participation, and respect for different grief timelines are part of the retreat container.

Retreat investment

Final retreat investment will be announced once venue details, room types, and vendor packages are fully confirmed.

This retreat will include a Standard Retreat Package and an optional VIP Upgrade for guests who want deeper one-to-one support before, during, and after the retreat.

This experience is priced intentionally to support a high-care, small-group environment without underfunding the container. Payment plans will be available. Sustainable retreat businesses are built through clear pricing, capacity protection, and real profit rather than underpricing from guilt.
